Bluewater Health Foundation is excited to announce a two-day concert event in June of 2022 featuring some of Canada’s most popular bands! Day one of the new Block Party will include Red Wanting Blue and The Trews, while the second day will feature world-renowned band Walk Off the Earth.
About - Red Wanting Blue
Hailed as “Midwestern rock heroes” by American Songwriter, Red Wanting Blue has spent the last 20 years establishing themselves as one of the indie world’s most enduring and self-sufficient acts, notching appearances everywhere from Letterman to NPR and reaching #3 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, all the while operating largely outside the confines of the traditional music industry. For their powerful new album, ‘The Wanting’, the band handed production duties over to acclaimed singer/songwriter Will Hoge, who helped them create their most ambitious, fully realized collections yet. Recorded in Nashville, TN, the record draws on many of the groups’ traditional strengths – indelible melodies, infectious hooks, explosive performances – even as the making of it pushed them far outside their comfort zone and forced them to take an unprecedented, nearly year-long break from touring.
About - The Trews
The Nova Scotia-bred, Hamilton, Ontario-based combo of singer/guitarist Colin MacDonald, guitarist John-Angus MacDonald, bassist Jack Syperek, and drummer Chris Gormley – songwriters all – has won universal acclaim for both their dazzling live performances and wildly accessible songs. The band’s current, sixth studio album, the towering and multifaceted Civilianaires, was cut in Toronto with fast-rising producer Derek Hoffman and features marquee assists from Arkells mainmain Max Kerman, super-producer Bob Rock, and celebrated singer/songwriter Serena Ryder.
About – Monowhales
Exploding onto the scene with a DIY ethos and an unforgettable live show, MONOWHALES have been making waves in Canada and abroad. The band’s latest single RWLYD (Really Wanna Let You Down) landed with a bang in September 2019 and has since gone to #2 at Alt Rock Radio in Canada. Three songs off the band’s last EP Control Freak were recently featured in the Netflix series “Spinning Out”, garnering worldwide attention for the band on all major streaming services. MONOWHALES have just completed their new record with JUNO-award nominated producer Ryan Worsley (Dear Rouge, Brave Shores), with a new single slated for late summer 2020.
About - Walk off the Earth
Walk Off the Earth is a Juno Award winning, multi-platinum musical phenomenon currently taking the world by storm. Based just outside Toronto in Burlington, Ontario, their brilliant 5-people-playing-one-guitar interpretation of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" exploded on YouTube, garnering over 180 million views. Since then, the band has released a string of successful original songs including, “Red Hands” (#1 at AAA), “Fire In My Soul” & “Rule The World” (multi-platinum in Canada); sold out venues across the globe, from Red Rocks to Wembley, and collaborated with some of the biggest artists in the world (Keith Urban, Snoop Dogg, Nicky Romero, & Steve Aoki).
