Halifax Musical Concerts presents Into The Woods (In Concert) on Friday, April 22, 2022 at St. Luke’s United Church (5374 St Margaret’s Bay Road, Upper Tantallon) and Saturday, April, 23, 2022 at St. Matthew’s United Church (1479 Barrington St, Halifax) both performances at 7:30pm.
Post legendary Broadway composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim’s recent death this past November 2021, this enchanting Tony award-winning musical will be presented in concert within the Halifax Regional Municipality.
With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine, classic fairy tale characters such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and the fabled Witch are brought together to meet a childless Baker and his Wife.
An extraordinary journey of humanism and emotion, Into The Woods is a musical in which obstacles are met, challenges overcome, and dreams are really magic!
Into The Woods (In Concert) features professional musical theatre talents:
Caroline Burton (Rapunzel); Margaret Champion (Jack's Mother); Katie Cochrane (Cinderella); Sara Courtney (Lucinda); Kyle Gillis (Baker); Rebecca Guilderson (Witch); Dominique LeBlanc (Little Red Riding Hood); David Light (Cinderella's Prince | Wolf); Melissa MacKenzie (Baker's Wife); Anthony MacPherson (Rapunzel's Prince); Brent Raddall (Jack in the Beanstalk); Emma Thornton Ockrant (Florinda); Christopher Wilson (Narrator Mysterious Man); and is accompanied by Ria Kim (piano).
