TONE Festival returns with their first presentation since 2019.
CHRIS PITSIOKOS with LUKE STEWART & JASON NAZARY (https://chrispitsiokos.bandcamp.com)
NYC saxophonist / composer Chris Pitsiokos bring his newest quartet to Toronto featuring bassist Luke Stewart (Irreversible Entanglements) and percussionist Jason Nazary (Little Women, Anteloper). Pitsiokos' music sits somewhere between the contemporary avant jazz and rock worlds, fuelled by the spirit of improvisation. Meandering with a purpose. Don't miss this crew of skilled communicators doing the dance.
LUGE (https://hugeluge.bandcamp.com)
Toronto no wave freaks bring the complex dance-y weirdo jams. Luge bust angular guitar & bass jabs over funk infused rhythms that squirm and shake. Bouncing bass lines & speedy drum patterns pull you in, as Luge seamlessly morphs from a languid stroll into chaotic spazz punk fury. Absurdist vocals wander amongst mangled guitar notes. Their locked in rhythms section spits out bastard funk grooves sound like they are straight out of late 1970’s NYC.
COLIN FISHER TRIO (https://www.colinfisher.org)
Guitarist / saxophonist Toronto polymath Colin Fisher continues to rip it right with his new trio. Joined by bassist Andrew Furlong and percussionist Nick Fraser (Ugly Beauties, Lina Allemano, Drumheller, etc). Mega Toronto heavy weigh trio, so don't come late or you'll miss the hometown face rip!
Cutoff is Friday, May 13, 2022 5:59 pm EST unless it sells out earlier.
