Announcing our next fundraising concert!
Moving forward, we aim to hold quarterly fundraising concerts as part of our annual fundraising strategy. Revenue from these concerts & other fundraising initiatives helps sustain Tranzac's operations and promote further growth. We gratefully acknowledge the generosity of all communities who contribute to making these amazing shows happen. Join us on June 14 for US Girls, Eucalyptus & Cots!
Masterminded by experimental songwriter Meghan Remy, Polaris Music Prize nominee US GIRLS developed from a noisy, abrasive solo act into a larger-than-life pop group. Remy's fascination with girl group melodrama and eerie soul music grew from reverb-coated experiments in her early days to the ambitious arrangements and slick production of albums like 2018's 'In a Poem Unlimited' and 2020's 'Heavy Light'.
Toronto-based octet EUCALYPTUS is a project led by acclaimed saxophonist and composer Brodie West, though the band's languid, kaleidoscopic jazz is very much a collective endeavour; the product of an internal network of improvisational synergy they've built over more than a decade together. Their unique vision has been nourished by a bafflingly diverse array of sources - from churning Ethiopian rhythms, the lilt of calypso, the ecstatic overtures of golden era fire music and idiosyncratic swing.
“Curious, melody-rich tropo-jazz bursts into experimental frenzy in a melange of fragmentary moods, from languorous to psych-tinged; masterfully agitated trumpet, clavinet and guitar and sax trilling thoughtfully. Pure imagination at play.”

COTS is the solo project of composer, singer, and guitarist Steph Yates. Blending elements of bossa nova, folk, jazz, and classical against a modern art backdrop, Yates’s crystalline voice carries the gravitas of songs that evoke lost love and its consequences.
Cutoff is Friday, June 14, 2024 4:59 pm EDT unless it sells out earlier.
