Discover the York Chamber Ensemble's 2024/2025 season under Maestro Michael Berec, showcasing a rich tapestry of music from Baroque to contemporary. Highlights include Fanny Mendelssohn’s rediscovered Overture in C Major, Felix Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the talented young pianist, Harrison Vandikas, and Mozart’s Symphony No. 40. Celebrate the holidays with Vivaldi’s Winter, Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 3 featuring Chris Buchner, and festive music. Experience French sophistication with Ravel’s Pavane pour une infante défunte, Bizet’s Carmen, and Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto No. 1 with soloist Noah Clarke. The season also features a strings-only concert with works by Telemann, Dvořák, Walker, and the world premiere of a new commission by Canadian composer Matthew Todd that brings a contemporary edge to the season’s diverse offerings.
