BLOOD CEREMONY have spent the last several years blurring the lines between heavy music’s past and present. Formed in Toronto in 2006, they were swiftly heralded as a cut above the retro rock pack, armed as they were with a sound that incorporated the riff-driven power of doom metal, the playfulness of psychedelia, and the flute-fuelled magic of acid-folk and progressive rock.
Since releasing their self-titled debut in 2008, Blood Ceremony have been a superlative presence in the international heavy rock underground; expanding their sonic vision as albums like 2013’s The Eldritch Dark (which cracked the Finnish Top 40 music charts) and 2016’s Lord of Misrule set a new standard for fiery analogue fervour.
With several successful tours in North America and Europe, the band have built an international reputation as a formidable live act, with marquee appearances at Roadburn Festival, Desertfest London & Berlin, Hellfest, and Psycho Las Vegas, to name a few.
The group's fifth album, The Old Ways Remain, emerged in the spring of 2023 to critical acclaim. Diverse, hypnotic, and eminently groovy, the new songs honour the atavistic ethos that has led Blood Ceremony to such triumphs in the past.

Let it go. Let it flow. Let it grow. When Matthew ‘Doc’ Dunn and Jay Anderson reconnected after the fall of their previous project, The Spiritual Sky Blues Band, that was the M.O. Barely using words to communicate, their instruments became highly charged positive ion conductors for a natural telepathy between these two local burnouts. STONEGRASS is the result - at its core a freak-flowing bacchanal of colliding flying V assault & slippery syncopated pummel. So take it EZ or just TAKE IT. Let it burn. LET IT BLOW.
Joining the group live will be Harrison Forman and Asher Gould-Murtagh

Mostly known for his critically acclaimed life affirming technical death metal band 'Tomb Mold', as well as his dream-doom project 'Dream Unending', on the side DERRICK VELLA likes to explore his favourite passion: fingerstyle guitar. Unable to completely stray from his metal roots and an inability to take himself seriously, his solo pieces are chock full of fast licks but with a lot more humour and whimsy. Think Leo Kottke, but with broken fingers.
