About Andrew Creeggan

Andrew Creeggan—often credited as Andy Creeggan—is a Canadian composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer whose career bridges alternative rock, experimental music, and contemporary classical influences. Born July 4, 1971 in Scarborough, Creeggan first gained widespread recognition in the early 1990s as a founding keyboardist and percussionist for the acclaimed Canadian alternative rock group Barenaked Ladies, contributing to the band’s formative recordings and energetic early performances before departing in 1995 to pursue formal studies in composition at McGill University. Following his departure from the band, he developed a diverse creative path that blended academic composition with improvisational and ambient sound design, releasing a series of solo instrumental works under the “Andiwork” title, including Andiwork, Andiwork II, Andiwork III, and later installments that explore minimalist piano textures and atmospheric electronic layers. In parallel with his solo career, Creeggan collaborated with his brother Jim Creeggan in the eclectic folk-pop project The Brothers Creeggan, further expanding his musical reach. Known for a reflective, often meditative approach to composition, Creeggan’s work today blends elements of ambient, jazz, and experimental music, establishing him as a versatile figure within Canada’s broader musical landscape.
