County Towne Players Acting Guild is a volunteer-driven community theatre organization based in Walkerton, Ontario, founded in 1972 and performing at the historic Victoria Jubilee Hall, a heritage venue located at 111 Jackson Street South. For more than five decades, the troupe has presented high-quality amateur productions ranging from classic British farces and contemporary comedies to heartfelt dramas and occasional musicals, fostering local talent both onstage and behind the scenes. Operated entirely by dedicated community members, the Guild manages auditions, set construction, costumes, lighting, and front-of-house operations, creating a collaborative environment that welcomes performers of varying experience levels. Victoria Jubilee Hall provides an intimate proscenium-style setting with traditional theatre seating and wheelchair accessibility, enhancing the audience experience while preserving the building’s historic charm. The group’s 2026 spring production, Exit Laughing, directed by Linda Lloyd-MacKenzie, continues its tradition of accessible, crowd-pleasing entertainment with performances scheduled in April. With affordable ticket pricing, strong local sponsorship support, and a loyal regional audience, County Towne Players Acting Guild remains a cultural cornerstone in Bruce County, committed to enriching Walkerton’s arts scene through engaging live theatre.
