About Dave Hemstad

Dave Hemstad is a talented comedian whose humor is as authentic as it is relatable. Born and raised in Thornhill, Ontario, Dave discovered his passion for comedy while studying business at Wilfrid Laurier University. He soon realized that he was much better at making people laugh than he was at crunching numbers, and decided to pursue comedy full time.

Dave's career in comedy took off in 2002 when he appeared on national television for the first time. Since then, he has become a household name in Canada's comedy scene, thanks in large part to his numerous appearances at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. His performances have garnered critical acclaim and earned him three Canadian Comedy Award nominations.

But Dave's talents extend beyond stand-up comedy. He has also acted in several television series, including the Showcase comedy "Almost Heroes", and he is a regular contributor to the CBC series "Still Standing". However, it is perhaps his role on CBC's "The Debaters" that has earned him the most recognition. As a regular panelist on the show, Dave has become known for his quick wit and ability to turn any topic into a hilarious debate.

Despite his success, Dave remains grounded and committed to his craft. He is known for his approachable demeanor and his ability to connect with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Whether he is performing on stage or making a guest appearance on a television show, Dave Hemstad is always in his element, making people laugh and brightening their day.
