Formed in Victoria, British Columbia, in 1979, Dayglo Abortions are a legendary Canadian hardcore punk and metal band known for their raw energy, biting satire, and unapologetic social commentary. Over four decades, the group has earned a cult following for their fearless approach to taboo subjects and their signature mix of aggressive riffs and irreverent humor. Their debut album Out of the Womb (1981) and the iconic Feed Us a Fetus (1985) cemented their reputation as one of Canada’s most controversial and influential punk acts. With an evolving lineup led by frontman Murray “The Cretin” Acton, Dayglo Abortions continue to challenge conventions and push boundaries with every performance. Their music—equal parts political, absurd, and defiant—embodies the essence of punk rebellion. Still touring and recording after more than forty years, the band remains a staple of Canada’s underground music scene, inspiring new generations of punks with their uncompromising attitude, DIY spirit, and refusal to conform.
