Dieter Boehme is a German-born Canadian country music singer-songwriter raised in the Camden East and Napanee region of Ontario. Boehme began playing guitar and writing songs at about age fourteen and formed his first band, The Rebels, in 1974, recording the album First Time Around in 1978, which included several original compositions. During the 1980s he built a reputation on the Canadian country circuit, touring extensively and appearing on The Tommy Hunter Show in January 1988, a major showcase for country performers in Canada. Over the years he shared bills with well-known country stars including Merle Haggard and George Jones, performing throughout Ontario and at festivals and jamborees. Boehme continues to record and perform traditional country music, including his recent releases Nashville Sessions, Vol. 1 and Nashville Sessions, Vol. 2 (2024), which feature original songs reflecting his long career in grassroots Canadian country music. Known for a classic honky-tonk style, he remains an active presence in regional country music events and live performances.
