Dmitri Levkovich is a Ukrainian-born Canadian pianist and composer renowned for his commanding technique, intellectual depth, and emotionally charged performances that critics have praised as possessing “artistic sophistication far above the ordinary.” Born into a musical family in Ukraine—his father a distinguished composer and both parents pianists—Levkovich demonstrated prodigious talent early, later establishing an international career marked by more than 20 top prizes at major competitions, including the International German Piano Award and accolades at competitions in Europe and North America. Now based in Toronto, he balances an active global performing schedule with teaching and composing, appearing with orchestras and at festivals across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. His repertoire spans cornerstone Romantic works to contemporary compositions, with particular acclaim for his interpretations of Rachmaninoff, reflected in his recording of Rachmaninoff: 24 Preludes (2015), which highlights both virtuosic brilliance and nuanced lyricism.
