Grey Road 1 is an Ontario-based classic rock, funk, and blues band formed in 2012 and known for its energetic live performances across Southwestern Ontario and Grey County. Fronted by guitarist and vocalist Fred Dawson, the group takes its name from the rural road where Dawson grew up, reflecting the band’s roots in small-town Canadian music culture. Grey Road 1 features a lineup of experienced regional musicians, including Trevor Mackenzie and Pete Devlin on guitars along with a tight rhythm section that has included Mike Weir and Nick Liefl. Their sound blends driving classic rock riffs with funk grooves and blues influences, often highlighted by dual lead guitars and extended live jams. A regular draw at venues such as Heartwood Hall and local festivals, the band has built a loyal following through high-energy shows and community events.
