Pamela Highbaugh Aloni is a Canadian classical cellist recognized for her distinguished career as a chamber musician, soloist, and educator. Based in Victoria, British Columbia, she is best known as a co-founding member of the Lafayette String Quartet, the long-running ensemble in residence at the University of Victoria, where she has served on the faculty as a professor of cello. Highbaugh Aloni has performed extensively across North America and Europe, appearing in recital, chamber music programs, and orchestral collaborations with a repertoire spanning the classical and modern eras. Her work with the Lafayette String Quartet helped establish the ensemble as one of Canada’s respected chamber groups, known for interpretive depth and commitment to both standard repertoire and contemporary works. In addition to performing, she has been active as a teacher and mentor at festivals and youth music programs, contributing to the development of young string players. Highbaugh Aloni continues to appear in recitals and collaborative concerts, maintaining an active presence in Canada’s classical music community.
