PUP is a Canadian punk rock band from Toronto, Ontario, formed in 2010 and originally called Topanga. Known for their high-energy performances and emotionally charged lyrics, the four-piece band—composed of Stefan Babcock (vocals), Nestor Chumak (bass), Zack Mykula (drums), and Steve Sladkowski (guitar)—has become one of Canada’s most influential punk acts of the past decade. Their music blends elements of punk rock, hardcore punk, pop-punk, post-hardcore, and indie rock, creating a sound that is aggressive yet melodic, raw yet thoughtfully crafted. PUP released their self-titled debut in 2013, followed by acclaimed albums including The Dream Is Over (2016), Morbid Stuff (2019), This Place Sucks Ass (2020, EP), The Unraveling of PUPTheBand (2022), and their latest, Who Will Look After the Dogs? (2025). Known for their DIY ethos, relentless touring, and engaging live shows, they have built a loyal fanbase worldwide, regularly performing in venues across Canada, the U.S., and Europe, while maintaining a strong presence on Spotify, YouTube, and social media.
