The Reverend Horton Heat is the stage name of American musician James C. “Jim” Heath and the long-running psychobilly trio he formed in Dallas, Texas in 1985. Widely regarded as a pioneer of modern rockabilly and psychobilly, Heath blends high-speed guitar work, pounding rhythms, and tongue-in-cheek lyrics into a high-octane sound that fuses rockabilly, punk, country, and surf rock. The band’s classic lineup has featured Jimbo Wallace on upright bass and Jonathan Jeter on drums, delivering a stripped-down yet explosive live experience that has earned them a devoted international following. Signature songs like “Psychobilly Freakout,” “Bales of Cocaine,” and “Big Red Rocket of Love” showcase their revved-up style and irreverent edge.
