Life arrived unexpectedly for singer-songwriter Royal Wood, bringing both heartbreak and joy in the same year as he lost his father to illness and fell in love, ultimately getting married. Experiencing true grief and love for the first time, he channeled these opposing emotions into his latest album, Ever After The Farewell, recorded in London with Jamie Scott, known for his work with Rag 'n' Bone Man, Michael Kiwanuka, Niall Horan, and Ed Sheeran. Many songs were recorded the day they were written, with Royal performing most instruments, on the Beatles' EMI console that helped make Abbey Road legendary. The album blends influences from Tin Pan Alley and Laurel Canyon, with tracks like Hardest Thing Of All echoing Lennon and McCartney, and its title and artwork reflect both loss and love, symbolizing the farewell to his father and the beginning of his life with his wife.
