
Shaun Majumder (born January 29, 1972) is a Canadian actor, writer, and stand-up comedian widely recognized for his 15-year run on CBC’s political satire series This Hour Has 22 Minutes, where he appeared from 2003 to 2018 and won a Gemini Award in 2006 for his performance. Raised in Burlington, Newfoundland and Labrador, he began performing in local productions before training at Toronto’s Second City, which helped launch his national comedy career. Majumder became known for his energetic delivery, character work, and sharp social commentary, often drawing on his Indo-Newfoundland heritage. His television credits include Republic of Doyle, Detroit 1-8-7, The Firm, and the Epix series From, where he portrays Father Rudra Khatri. In film, he has appeared in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, Pushing Tin, and I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry. He also created and starred in Majumder Manor, a reality series focused on revitalizing his hometown through tourism and community investment, reflecting his ongoing commitment to Newfoundland.
