Stars is a Canadian indie pop/rock band based in Montreal, Quebec, formed in 2000. The group is known for its emotionally rich, melodic sound and thoughtful lyrics, blending elements of indie rock, pop, and orchestral arrangements. Core members include Torquil Campbell (vocals), Amy Millan (vocals/guitar), Evan Cranley (bass), Chris Seligman (keyboard/strings), Patrick McGee (drums), and Chris McCarron (keyboard). Over their career, Stars has released nine studio albums, including Nightsongs (2001), Set Yourself on Fire (2004), In Our Bedroom After the War (2007), The Five Ghosts (2010), and From Capelton Hill (2022). Their work has earned multiple Juno Award nominations and Polaris Music Prize recognition. Stars continue to perform internationally and remain a defining presence in the Canadian indie music scene.
