This presentation by Leigh Moore will examine the causes of the American Revolution (1776-1783), and the experiences, exile and settlement of individuals and families who remained loyal to the British Crown. We will examine in particular, one Loyalist provincial military unit, Butler’s Rangers and their Indigenous allies, unsung heroes who had a major role in ensuring that Canada did not become part of the newly created United States of America.
