Darius Jones has created a recognizable voice as a critically acclaimed saxophonist and composer by embracing individuality and innovation in the tradition of African-American music. In addition to his highly anticipated fLuXkit Vancouver performance celebrating the new album of the same name, Darius Jones’ Trio performance features fellow Americans drummer Gerald Cleaver and bassist Nick Dunston. Darius Jones Trio's forthcoming work, Legend of e’Boi (The Hypervigilant Eye), is about Black mental health and healing from personal and collective trauma through therapy, community and creative expression.
