East Coaster Studios proudly presents the pride of P.E.I., Lennie Gallant, at Trinity United for this years summer concert!
Lennie and his crew performed in North Bay, Ontario this past fall as part of the East Coaster Studios concert series and they had so much fun they thought they would do it again back home in Nova Scotia. Proceeds from this show are going to be reinvested back into Trinity to help continue to grow it as a key performance venue in New Glasgow. (Details to come.)
Lennie Gallant is an acclaimed East Coast songwriter with sixteen albums of original material to his name and a long list of awards recognizing his work. This June, he returns with Shelter From the Storms, his first English-language album in seven years— a powerful reflection on the turbulent times we live in, but also celebrating the enduring human capacity for dealing with these times through connection, love and laughter.
His iconic song Peter’s Dream was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and his songwriting has reached audiences around the world—quite literally. One of his albums even accompanied astronauts aboard the International Space Station, orbiting Earth 248 times. Gallant quips that it finally gave him “high rotation worldwide!”
Over the years, he has shared the stage with symphony orchestras and performed
alongside numerous well-known artists, including the late Jimmy Buffett. Buffett not only recorded Gallant’s song Mademoiselle but also featured him as a guest vocalist and co-writer on two tracks from his final album, including the rockin and celebratory Portugal or PEI!
Lennie also performs with his partner Patricia Richard as the Francophone duo Sirène et Matelot, beloved for their rich harmonies and heartfelt songwriting.
A celebrated humanitarian and storyteller, Gallant was appointed to the Order of Canada, where he was honored for songs described as “true slices of life delivered with a poet’s flair and a rugged emotional sensibility.”
This is a must see event this summer!
