Images in Vogue is a Canadian new wave band that emerged from Vancouver in 1981. Known for their synth-driven sound, the group blended post-punk energy with melodic pop sensibilities, drawing comparisons to contemporaries like Depeche Mode and Japan. The original lineup featured vocalist Dale Martindale, guitarist Don Gordon, synth players Joe Vizvary and Glen Nelson, bassist Gary Smith, and percussionist Kevin Crompton. Their debut album, In the House (1985), featured hits like "Lust for Love" and "Call It Love," establishing the band as a notable presence in Canada's 1980s music scene. They followed with The Spell in 1988, continuing to refine their lush, electronically infused arrangements. Over the years, Images in Vogue maintained a loyal fan base, celebrated for both their recorded work and engaging live performances. Their influence on Canadian synthpop and new wave endures, reflecting a period of innovative experimentation in electronic and rock music.
