Joseph Shabason will be playing with the Welcome To Hell Tentet. They are the band that he recorded his album, Welcome To Hell with. Joseph Shabason's Welcome To Hell was a re-scoring of the seminal 1996 Toy Machine skate video of the same name . He took the original music out of the video and wrote new songs for each skateboarder's part. On top of playing music from Welcome To Hell, the tentet will be playing songs by Bernice, Andre Ethier and other Toronto GOATS. Fun!
Sandro Perri & Friends: A special one-off trio set with longtime collaborators Ryan Driver and Thomas Hammerton, playing all new material on bass, drum machine, synth, melodica, flute and voices.
Jane Inc. is Carlyn Bezic. Pitchfork called Jane Inc.'s first album, 2021's Number One "dazzling... [Bezic] proves herself a musical Swiss Army knife, capable of anything and revelling in her multiplicity." On sophomore album Faster Than I Can Take, she uses all the tools at her disposal - shredding harmonic guitar riffs over deep, danceable grooves, an eagerness to experiment with form, and lyricism that seamlessly links the personal and the political - to focus the multifaceted energy of Number One into something completely singular. The conceptual edges of her music are pushed further in her live show, where she has “an incredible presence, keeping the audience rapt even when she was just dancing hypnotically, reminisent of Mistki or Lorde” (Brooklyn Vegan). With a new album on the horizon that builds on her emotional, idiosyncratic and pop oriented body of work, a Jane Inc. show continues to be the ideal setting to dance while you cry.
And just who are Punjabi Ambient Squad? Punjabi Ambient Squad is a supergroup of artists Tender Buttons, Sarovar and sanjeet. Together they explore and blend music from all parts of their lives. From diving into Indian diasporic tunes, wedding bhangra classics or contemporary sounds, they bring the chardi kala- the mental state of eternal resilience, optimism and joy.
