WORKSHOP: DJing 101 w/ ANA LUISA

Discover the art of making songs kiss in this engaging, hands-on introduction to DJing. You’ll be introduced to key techniques such as beat-matching, EQing, phrasing and song selection while working directly on an industry-standard CDJ set up. Whether you’re a curious beginner or an experienced mixer looking to hone your craft, this workshop will help you strengthen foundational skills, experiment, listen deeply and build a distinct sonic palette. No experience is needed, and all participants will get hands-on practice on the decks.

ANA LUISA (@analuisaaaaaa) is a DJ, producer and artist from Caracas. As a Toronto scene mainstay since 2020, she has taken local, national and international stages with her selection of latin rhythms and percussive, bass-heavy, forward-thinking fun club music. Her tracks have been released on NAAFI, Air Texture, The Raptor Records, Best In Town Sound, Jupiter4 and Deprerreo, and she is one of the minds behind Veneno, one of Toronto’s most iconic parties platforming Latin American electronic music. As a facilitator, she has co-developed and delivered DJing and creative entrepreneurship educational programs for Toronto-based QTBIPOC youth through collectives Cuarentena and pressedplay.
