After a 9-3 Orangeville win on Wednesday night, the Northmen come to The Dave up 2-1 in the best-of-5 series. The previous two games were decided by just one goal, with the Bengals winning responding to a game-one defeat with a win in Hamilton.
The Northmen were the 2nd-seed Orangeville Northmen (15-4) and the Bengals finished 7th (9-11), but do not let the records fool you—these two teams are evenly matched.
Both regular-season matchups were absolute 1-goal thrillers. In our home opener, the Northmen just hung on to win 9-8. Then on May 30th in Orangeville, the Bengals mounted a furious comeback with four 3rd-period goals, only to fall 10-9 on a late marker.
This series features a spectacular battle of elite offence. The Northmen are led by Tyler Gronroos (88 points, 36 goals), while our Bengals are powered by Dustin Sparkes, who racked up 86 points, including a blistering 47 goals.
