You are invited to join Circles of Grief and Grief Matters for a free community grief education day focused on learning, conversation, and connection around grief, loss, and palliative care.
We will explore the many forms and experiences of grief, how people may respond to loss in different ways, and what it can mean to foster compassionate, grief-informed communities.
The day will bring together professional and lived-experience perspectives on grief, loss, and palliative care. This event is for anyone interested in learning more about grief, whether through personal experience, supporting someone who is grieving, or wanting to contribute to a more compassionate community. No previous knowledge or experience is required, and everyone is welcome.
The event is free, and lunch will be provided.

Speakers:
Dr. Philip Cooper is a palliative care physician based in Yarmouth County who provides palliative care services throughout the Tri-County region, including Yarmouth, Digby, and Shelburne Counties. With medical career spanning decades, he has practiced as a family physician, surgeon, oncologist and palliative care specialist. His broad experience has shaped a compassionate, person-centred approach that focuses on caring for the whole person and supporting families throughout serious illness and grief. Dr Cooper is a strong advocate for community-based palliative care, believing that palliative care is about living well, not simply end-of- life care. Throughout his career, he has been committed to educating health professional, volunteers and public, to better understand the value of early palliative care and compassionate support.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
