Motown Meets Windsor The Four Tops, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas and The Contours Headline Windsor’s Three Day Carrousel by the River June 7, 8, 9 “Motown Meets Windsor” when The Four Tops, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas and The Contours with Sylvester Potts take the stage along with acclaimed jazz flutist Alexander Zonjic and his band, headlining Windsor’s three day world music and food extravaganza, Carrousel by the River, June 7 – 9 at Riverfront Festival Plaza. The Motown sound is beloved around the world and seeing these legendary Motown stars on Saturday and Sunday and some of the best bands in Windsor headlining Friday night, will make the outdoor concert and world festival an unparalleled all day, all night celebration of great music. Opening ceremonies for Carrousel by the River take place at the main Festival Stage in Riverfront Festival Plaza at 6:30 p.m. to kick off “Windsor Night” featuring the most exciting, up - and - coming bands in and around the Windsor area. It is sure to be a high energy, all night party. Here’s the line-up for Day 1, Friday, June 7: The Unquiet Dead, 7 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Years of Ernest, 8 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. The Blue Stones, 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Walkervilles, 10:15 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. Day 2, Saturday, June 8 – Carrousel by the River featuring Alexander Zonjic and The Motown Horns and Motown Greats Martha Reeves and the Vandellas and The Four Tops. Alexander Zonjic and Friends take the stage kicking off the big Motown Night on Saturday, June 8 playing with The Motor City Horns from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. They will be followed by the legendary Martha Reeves and the Vandellas playing from 8:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. with her complete Motown review featuring everyone’s favorite songs from Dancing in the Streets to Heat Wave. Motown night concludes with the great Four Tops playing from 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with a full Motown production and all of their hits ranging from Baby I Need Your Loving to I Can’t Help Myself and Reach Out I’ll Be There. Everyone is sure to be dancing in the streets and throughout Riverfront Plaza in a grand celebration of Motown and Windsor. Day 3, Sunday, June 9 – Carrousel by the River Presents The Contours featuring Sylvester Potts The Line-Up for Sunday, June 9 begins with a performance by Toronto based band Elliott Brood from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. followed by the Jermaine Cowan Band, the Canadian reggae/soul/jazz/ gospel sensation, nominated for the Canadian Achievement Awards’ Album of the Year and Artist of the Year, performing from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Motown Meets Windsor party continues on the closing day of Carrousel by the River, Sunday, June 9 with headliners The Contours featuring Sylvester Potts performing at the festival’s conclusion from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. This legendary quartet known for 50 years as Motown’s #1 party group will be performing their timeless Motown grooves including Do You Love Me? and First I Look at the Purse.
