Cafe Dekcuf was a beloved live music venue located on the second floor of 221 Rideau Street in downtown Ottawa, Ontario. Established as an intimate space with a capacity of approximately 150, it quickly became a cornerstone of Ottawa's live music scene. The venue hosted a wide variety of local and touring artists, providing a platform for both emerging and established musicians to showcase their talents. Patrons appreciated Cafe Dekcuf for its unique atmosphere, warm and welcoming environment, and excellent acoustics that enhanced the live music experience. Over its more than two decades of operation, it cultivated a strong community of music enthusiasts who frequently gathered to enjoy diverse performances, from rock and jazz to experimental and indie genres. Despite its popularity and cultural significance, Cafe Dekcuf faced economic challenges and disputes with its landlord, which ultimately led to its permanent closure on January 1, 2025.
