Jeanne Truax is a Kawartha Lakes, Ontario–based singer-songwriter known for blending rockabilly, roots rock, and vintage pop influences with a modern edge, often drawing inspiration from artists like The Beatles and Wanda Jackson. She first gained wider attention in the early 2020s as part of the synth-pop/alt-rock duo Tapes In Motion alongside Colby McAllister, performing at events such as the Peterborough Folk Festival before stepping further into a solo career. By 2025, she was recognized as a rising local artist in the Ontario music scene, including being named a featured/emerging artist at the 2025 Peterborough Folk Festival, where her energetic live performances helped solidify her reputation. That same year, she released the single “I Know What You Like” (2025), which marked a clear push toward her solo rockabilly/roots direction. Moving into 2026, she continued building momentum with new releases such as “Keep Talkin’” and “Please Don’t Leave” (both 2026), alongside regular live performances across Ontario venues and festivals, reinforcing her growing presence as a young, genre-blending artist in Canada’s indie and roots music scene.
