Come join us on Jan 31, 2026 as we welcome Sultans of String to our stage.

3x JUNO (Canada’s Grammy) nominees and SiriusXM winners Sultans of String create “Energetic and exciting music from a band with talent to burn!” (Maverick Magazine UK). Thrilling audiences with their genre-hopping passport of Celtic reels, flamenco, Django-jazz, Arabic, Cuban, and South Asian rhythms, fiery violin dances with kinetic guitar, while bass and nyckelharpa lay down unstoppable grooves. Throughout, acoustic strings meet with electronic wizardry to create layers and depth of sound.

Sultans of String has been riding a wave of critical success, hitting #1 on world-international music charts in Canada, and a total of 6 Canadian Folk Music Awards out of 11 nominations, winning Instrumental and World Group. They have also been recognized with 3 JUNO Award nominations for Instrumental and World Group, and 1st place in the International Songwriting Competition out of 15,000 entries. The band has been recorded live for broadcast on BBC Television, SiriusXM in Washington DC, CTV’ s CanadaAM, CBC’s Canada Live, and has topped campus/community radio charts in the U.S. and U.K. They have also performed live at U.K.'s Celtic Connections Festival, Birdland Jazz Club NYC, Folk Alliance in Memphis, as well as larger stages with conductor Maestro John Russell (Cincinnati Pops), and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

Bandleader Chris McKhool (Jesse Cook, Pavlo), who was awarded a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, grew up in a Lebanese-Egyptian (Makhoul) house bursting with music and diversity. Growing up, he was fed a steady diet of delicious musicality alongside Middle Eastern cuisine and violin lessons. He has recently written, directed and produced two Cannes World Film Festival Award winning films, The Refuge Project, and Walking Through the Fire, that have screened globally.
