The Banjo Special at Acoustic Harvest
Acoustic Harvest is delighted to present The Banjo Special, a unique concert experience featuring Arnie Naiman, Chris Coole, Brian Taheny, and Chris Quinn, four of Canada’s finest banjo players.

This is not your ordinary banjo show. The Banjo Special takes the audience on a musical journey through the many lives of the banjo, from its early roots as an African gourd instrument, through early American traditions, old-time country music, rural blues, bluegrass, and all the way to Ireland.

Each musician brings a different voice to the instrument. Arnie Naiman and Chris Coole are widely respected old-time clawhammer players, known for their deep feel, original tunes, and masterful command of traditional style. Brian Taheny, originally from Sligo, Ireland, brings the bright, driving energy of Irish tenor banjo. Chris Quinn adds the sparkle and propulsion of bluegrass banjo, with playing rooted in tradition but never limited by it.

Together, they show just how much range, soul, humour, and surprise can live inside one instrument.

For longtime banjo lovers, this will be a feast. For those who think they already know what the banjo sounds like, this concert may change their mind.
